LONDON — Christian Bale has made it clear that he doesn’t regret signing with Real Madrid despite the club’s public relations nightmare.
In an interview with German newspaper Bild, Bale said that he would not be returning to England for a second time.
“It was a mistake for me to come back to Real Madrid,” Bale said, via the Telegraph.
“I would love to stay in the Premier League and to play in the Champions League, but the moment I went back to Madrid it was the wrong decision.
I would love that I could go home to England and play in a European Championship, but I don’t want to be there again.”
The 31-year-old was the subject of a string of criticism during his time in Madrid and has been linked with several Premier League clubs this summer.
